FSM Social Security

The UFCP President had a short relevant conversation with former FSM President Joseph Urusemal who is at present the Chairman of the HESA (Health, Education & Social Affairs) Committee of the FSM Congress. The UFCP President informed Senator Uresemal about the Filipino OFWs' problem on the FSM Social Security. In return, Senator Uresemal said he will look on the matter.
A few months ago, the UFCP has sent a letter to the office of the Senator Urusemal requesting for a meeting with the UFCP officers. The said meeting was re-scheduled because Senator Urusemal was off-island then.
Another letter-request for a meeting was also sent to Senator Midion Neth for the same purpose: FSM Social Security.
2. April 2, 2008 (Wednesday)
In the morning, the UFCP President was informed that there will be a Public Hearing regarding FSM Social Security at 3:00pm. During lunch time, the UFCP President informed all Filipinos by sending a UFCP Advisory through text messages: (UFCP Advisory/PUBLIC HEARING RE: FSM SS at 3pm today at the Conference Room of the Pohnpei Governor's Office. Just for INFO. We'll keep u posted.)
In the said Public Hearing, the UFCP President was joined by Ms. Jasmin Gonzales. Before the Public Hearing started, the outgoing Honorary Consul Ms. Alicia Ada approached the UFCP President and asked him the position of UFCP re: FSM SS. The UFCP President informed her that UFCP will ask and get the sympathy of each of the committee members of the FSM HESA, hence the above-mentioned letter requests (No. 1) for meetings with Senator Uresemal and Senator Neth.
Furthermore, in the said Public Hearing, Senator Uresemal mentioned that the UFCP President had already approached him before about the Filipino OFW's concern on the FSM SS and that the good senator has instructed the FSM SS Administrator and Board Members to meet with the UFCP officers. The date of the said meeting will still be scheduled after April 15, the day the FSM SS Board Members will arrive from Hawaii.
The UFCP officers will have a meeting about the FSM SS (and at the same time remittance of Bingo tickets sales) on April 16 (Tuesday) 7PM at the UFCP President's House. The UFCP will hold a Bingo Fundraising on April 20, 2008, 1:00PM, at PICS Cafeteria. Five Dollars ($5.00) for each ticket which is equivalent to two (2) playing cards playable for 13 games.

3rd Prize: $100.00
Plus 10 Consolation Prizes
Buy your tickets now from any UFCP officers or at the venue itself. Proceeds of the fundraising will go to various UFCP Projects, particularly the ongoing UFCP Sports Fest.
